NMBU's living lab for industrial digitalization

The living lab for industrial digitalization was set up by the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Faculty of Science and Technology (REALTEK), as a bridge from its integrated teaching and student-driven research in industrial digitalization engineering to societal stakeholders in industry, policy, and civil society. Involved NMBU faculty include Jesper Frausig, Martin Thomas Horsch, Kristian Liland, Shailendra Singh, Kristin Tøndel, and more - we are not a club where there are members and non-members, but an open initiative where engineers from all backgrounds are encouraged to engage themselves and join in. You don't need to belong to NMBU either.

Living lab day

The laboratory's kickoff event, the living lab day, is held on 12th November 2025. This is supported by the DigiPass CSA project, and on the morning of 13th November 2025, we will have a working meeting within that project, open to those who are interested.

Registration

Register for this event by 5th November 2025. We are specially interested in external participants who can inspire directions of work, collaborations, or use cases for student-driven research. And we are most interested in students' active participation. Or come to learn about the digital product passport, which we will discuss in detail during the afternoon session.

The address for locating the buildings is Drøbakveien 31, 1433 Ås for the rooms starting with "TF" (TF1-101, TF2-323b) and Oluf Thesens vei 35, 1433 Ås for the building "Bikuben." Where exactly in these buildings are the rooms located? You can find them using the NMBU MazeMap.
